When did u transition from crib to bed? How'd you do it?

DD is 2 years old and about 3 months! She is very tall for her age,almost 37 inches and is looking too big for crib. Bought her a full size bed with bars for side but wondering how I transition her. I am moving her into a new room too!

We moved DS when he was 2y8m because he was really too big for his crib. He loved his crib so we talked it up for awhile. He and I even looked online and picked out special sheets for his new bed. He picked everything.

He kept saying "no thank you, I like my crib" but one day I just told him we needed to get rid of the crib. So he and Daddy took it apart and we put his new bed in his "baby room" and he never had an ounce of trouble.

For my DS, who is very opposed to ANY change (including different jackets for different seasons!) Changing room and beds would have been too much at one time. So we did one and he was fine. Now with #2 coming in 6 weeks, he will be moving to his big boy room in a few weeks and again my big strategy is just to keep him involoved from picking the color and accessories etc so he is excited about the move.

My DD is 2 1/2 and in the 95th percentile for height and I can tell you this, she's staying in the crib until she either hates it or tries to climb out. Right now she loves her crib and is content so I see no reason to rock the boat. I'm not in any rush to get her into a "big girl" bed.

I'm a failure. I did it at 2ish.......now he is 3 and sleeping in our bed.

We did it out of need. I was 7 mths pregnant and we wanted to put the crib away for a few months before DD came along. He was 2 yrs 7 mths. Just made a big deal about a big boy bed. He has a full size bed with bed with the rails. He actually did really well with it. Yesterday we put the crib back together for DD (she is 3 mths now and he is officially 3 years old) and he didn't remember the crib. He said it was for babies when we told him it used to be his. He also said he loves his bed!

13 months for DS and we started him out napping in the bed, and sleeping in the crib (and he slept horribly at night) so we just got rid of the crib and he slept great.

with DD at 8 months old, mattress on the floor with a rail. she hated hated the crib, refused anything to do with it.

DS is 3.5 and DD is 20 months

We're going to do it this weekend. DD will be 3 in April and she looks to be running out of room in her crib (although she has always been a good sleeper and happy in her crib).
