when did things fly off your registry?
My shower is Saturday and there is still a decent amount on my registry. I figured if things would fly off, it would be this weekend, but only 1 or 2 things came off the entire weekend so far. So either everyone is getting us gift cards, buying items not on the registry or really going at the last minute. Just curious when/if you noticed items came off.

very good question......still not sure when my shower is but not a lot has come off since the invites went out which was maybe two/three wks ago

most of my stuff came off as soon as the invites were received and then it slowed down a bit, but picked up with just a few days before the shower. have a great time at yours!

quite a bit came off as soon as the invitations were sent, then it was quiet and then it picked up.
But in my experience from others registries, tons of stuff went off the week before their shower, especially the last few days before it.

My shower isn't until June 21st and pretty much all of the major stuff is off.
There is still quite a bit left, but I'm sure it will come off towards the last week before the shower.

I worked as a customer service manager at BRU for 3 years, and I can tell you this...
90% of people are LAST-MINUTE shoppers. And when I say last minute, I mean: They're coming up to the register, all dressed to go, frantically wrapping/writing cards at the gift wrap counter and saying things like "WE WERE SUPPOSED TO BE THERE 20 MINUTES AGO!!!"
So, I wouldn't worry just yet.

They wont until after Ed-lie is born. The "must haves" DH and I are buying ourselves. A newborn doesnt need that much in the way of toys so if she has to wait one extra week for an exersaucer, I don't think she will hold it against us. Or will she?

well things flew off within the week of my shower. However, MOST of the things that were bought off of my registry were from people at my job and they threw me a baby shower too! I actually made out much better at my work with receiving registry gifts than my reg. shower at home. I found that my friends at my "home" shower ignored my registry! I seemed to have gotten whatever they wanted to get me regardless of what was on my registry. So keep in mind that people will buy you what they want to buy you regardless of your registry.. which sort of stinks, but I guess you could always return the items you dont really need and get store credits.

My shower is June 28th...We mailed out the invites beginning of last week, tings were coming off for the first couple of days and now have slowed down....

things came off pretty fast at first then slowed down for weeks. the last few days a few things came off. my shower was yesterday and i got a lot of stuff that wasnt on my registry. there are actually some things that were taken off my registry but i didnt get them yesterday so i dont know what the deal is with that stuff.

I'm convinced people really wait. I am concerned about getting things that were not on the registry too - we do not have a huge house and I purposely registered for things that fold, are compact and sort of fit into our layout.

I bet the things taken off were from people who could not make the shower; that is what is happening to me, people are sending things through the mail. I guess everyone knows I know, as my shower is not even here yet!

yah i know but what really pisses me off that a lot of people the rsvp that they were coming... didnt!!! i just think thats so rude and i think my mom might have had to pay for them anyway. at least now i know who my real friends are.
