When Can You Bring Baby Out in Public
I heard that you can bring baby out in public after 3 months. Any truth to this? Just curious...

We went for walks right away.
Didn't bring DD to malls or supermarkets - until after she received her shots at 2 months

we went to family functions right away. no mall or supermarkets the first two months.

My 1st son I brought him out about 2wks it was December and I had to finish my Christmas shopping, my second probably about a wk it was April and the weather was nice, and my last was about 5-6days the more you have the faster you have to get out

I brought him to stores around 2-3 weeks. I was no way waiting for his 2 month shots. It never made sense to me to wait that long. JMO.

I will let family and close friends see him, and take him in the car for errands, but the ped told me not to bring him to stores or restaurants until 6 weeks, so I am going to follow that. I just couldn't live with the guilt if he got sick after an outing like that.

Most dr's give spinal taps if a baby gets a fever before 2 months. I wouldn't risk it!

to the supermarket at one week, but she was born in march and it was over 70 degrees here in charlotte

We took DD to family's house at 8 days old and then to KK for pics at 2 weeks old. She's 3 weeks old now and I wouldn't take her to a mall or anything but I think to familys house or for a quick walk if the weather is OK is fine.

My doctor told us to wait 12 weeks for malls and closed in places like that and not to bring her around toddlers until that time also. He sounds overly cautious but he assured us it was because it's RSV and flu season. He told us we could go to Babies R Us when they first opened in the morning before the crowds.

i brought him out at 2 weeks, and flew with him at 5 weeks. my ped gave me the green light to take him out as i wished.

Both girls were out shopping, restaurants, peoples houses, walking when I was feeling up to it, within 1-2 weeks of being home from the hospital. There's NO way i could stay home locked up with the baby.

3 months? I would have gone insane. I had DD out for lunch with us the first week she was born. I would have freaked out staying inside all the time.

She went to my In-Laws at around 2 weeks and to another family members house around that time but not to stores.
She has run in with me to BRU & the mall at 5 weeks (for 10-15 min)
Monday (7 weeks old) she visited Santa & went to Famous Daves. I really tried to wait 2 months for her shots but did break the rules a few times.
