When they were infants, it would depend on how far things had progressed. Usually I would bail out.
Now,when we hear "Mommy?!" DH will yell out "Mommy is sleeping come back later." which is funny when it's followed by "You shouldn't yell Daddy. You could wake her up."

That is too cute.
I used to bail out and go take care of DD, now i wait and see if she is really awake or if she is just fussing. Thank god she is sleeping through the night now so this really hasn't been a problem.
