Whats the earliest you could show / need maternity clothes?

I am only 8w4d and im having so much trouble with my clothes. At first there was a lot of bloat but now it almost seems like my belly is getting bigger - but i feel like thats too early to happenChat Icon

I had bought pants in a size bigger so i could be comfy - but now those are getting tight - should i get another size up or should i buy maternity?

PS - ive tried BeBands and since my pants are tight more at the bottom of the zip than where the button is - they dont really help.

Thanks girls

ETA - i started out about 25lbs overweight - so i already had a small belly to begin with - not sure how that affects things

You're still going to have bloat for the next couple of weeks. It usually reaches its peak towards the end of the 1st Tri, goes away and then you might go back to normal again before you start to show. But if you want to get one or two pair of maternity pants then go ahead, whatever makes you most comfortable.

Every single person is different as to when they *really* start to show with an actual baby bump, but I would say on average it's in the late teens of weeks.

Is it normal to bloat a size or two bigger? What do most girls do - just buy bigger pants?

I have a very similar story. I started with a belly too and wore a 12, then a 14, then I broke down and bought some maternity pants around 10 weeks. It was a great decision. It's much more comfortable. Besides, no one knows they are maternity unless you tell them. You have so much else to worry about right now, don't let comfort be one.

Happy shopping!!!
