What's the deal with these newborn shoots?
Obviously I MUST have one now that everyone else is doing it. I'm very easily influenced. I'm a marketing team's dream. 
I saw on the other thread that you book in advance. What's involved with the shoot? Well, first of all, how did you pick the photographer? Did you go to their studios and look at albums like you did for your wedding? Is this going to cost me a kidney to have this done? How is it priced out? Like wedding packages were? Do they come to your house to do the pics? How long does it take? Will they photoshop out any extra baby weight I have and then some?

You can check out vendors on here under the business directory for photographers.
The shoot is done usually within the first 10-14 days after the baby is born.
Every photographer has different packages and pricing....you can get them as cheap as $175 or as expensive as almost $2K, with prices all in between.
They have tons of props, hats, etc. and you can bring your own to the shoot, and the time period to do it can be a few hours. They can come to you or you can go to them, depending on the photog.
Most of the pics are of the baby, but pics involving the mom and dad are also taken if you wish. Additional family members are usually charged extra per person.
