we started dd (when she turned 6mos) with the playtex straw sippy bendy flex squeezy cup (i don't know what the right name is). she looked at it, furrowed her brow, stuck the straw in her mouth, and has guzzled water like a champ ever since! love this cup!

I completely agree with the previous poster.
The playtex little gripper straw sippy cup is the best - DD picked it up within 5 minutes.

my ds hated the above cup...cried and couldn't figure it out, but can drink (messy) from a real cup
we use the nuby ones that dont leak...love it We just dropped the first of 3 bottles and in a month expect to be bottle free (ds is 1 year)
