Whats the average time in hospital after birth?

I havent done a tour at my hospital yet (its in NC) and I'm wondering what everyone thinks is a normal amount of time most women stay in the hospital after they give birth?? For both vaginal delivery and c-section. Not that you can really PLAN something like this, but I guess I'm just curious.

I believe its 2 days for vaginal and up to 5 days for C-section; but you can be out in as little as 3 after a C.

It all depends on how long your in labor aso and what time of day you have your child.

48 hours for Vaginal and 96 for c-section.

I had DD at 2:00pm on a Monday and was sent home on Wednesday.

Had my DS by emergency C-sect at 3:30am Sun. morning and went home on Thurs. so 4 nights and I couldn't wait to go home!

I really think it depends on the insurance...I had my DD at 11:33 at night and they considered that one full day.

my insurance covers 48 hours from delivery time for vag, 96 hours from delivery time for c-s.

but first time around i was in the hospital for a total of about 30 hours, from when i arrived to when i left. they discharged me less than 24 hours after the baby was born.

I had a c-section, had dd on Tuesday and was released friday so 3 nights
