Ok so we are closing on our first house, next week. After we sign an become broke.. What's the first things we need to do, who to call..... TIA

Call the electric and gas/oil companies and telephone company to switch bill to your name.
Best piece of advice I ever got from these boards was to change the toliet seat covers first. LOL, I would have never thought of it.

Straight from the closing DH and I went to Home Depot to pick up new locks and toilet seats.
We didn't stop at the house first

buy yourself some cleaning supplies-most contracts call for "broom-swept" which can be scuzzy! Make sure you leave your sheets towels PJ's and change of clothes in case you're too tired to unpack everything
