What's everyone doing about the time change

I was never so confused before lol

Jack normally goes to bed at 6:30. Does this mean I now should be changing his routine to 7:30? I just don't know what the heck to do. We were out at 6 (normally we would be home getting ready for bed) and he was a total crank. I think he was tired. We rushed home - and now he's in the crib - but he's still wide awake.

What the heck do I do here on out? Keep putting him down at 6:30? Push everything back an hour?

I can't be the only one confused here can I? Chat Icon

Troy was going down at 6:30p and getting pu at 6:00-6:30a. This morning he woke up at 7am and he JUST went down (passed out b/c he only took 1 napChat Icon ). I am content with 7-7 vs 6:30-6

I'm trying to just stick with the routine within reason. She seems to be tired at her usual time.Chat Icon

We are just going with the flow and playing it by ear..keeping in mind what our normal schedule is and trying to hold on to it as much as possible. We've been kind of "compromising" on things and meeting in the middle so to speak..KWIM???

What we would be doing in your situation is put him to bed at say 7:15 tonight and tomorrow...7:00 the next couple etc..

Nothing new here. Just an hour lost. Everything is done at the same time still - doesn't matter that it's really an hour ahead.

We are trying to move their schedule from 5:30 am wake time to 6/7 and 6 pm bedtime to 7 pm anyway so this time change actually helped out.

They made it til 6:45Chat Icon Chat Icon tonight before they really starting melting down.

Jack's naps were totally off today too. I would LOVE him to go to sleep at 7 - versus 6. Who knows - tomorrow DH will be back at work so we'll see what happens.

Re: What's everyone doing about the time change

DD usually goes to bed at 7pm, and since I have to work tomorrow, I wanted to make sure she'd still be waking up by 6:30am so we can leave the house. So last night, even though the clocks hadn't been changed yet, I started the bedtime routine a little after 6pm, she was fine with it, and she got up at the normal time after the clocks went ahead. So now, tonight, we were back to 7pm bedtime, and hopefully she'll be up by 6:30am tomorrow at the latest.

Her naps were screwy today too, just after we got into a routine, but I don't think the time change was the cause though.

Re: What's everyone doing about the time change

We were pretty much on schedule today. She woke at 6:30, which would have been 5:30..her normal wake time Chat Icon Chat Icon Naps I kept at the same time and dinner got screwed up since we were out running errands...but normal bathtime and bedtime.

Now we'll see what tomorrow brings Chat Icon

Weekends are always a little off for us, but DD basically went down an hour later than usual tonight. She normally goes to bed around 6/6:30, and at that time tonight it was like the middle of the day brightness outside (we usually get her ready starting at 5:50). I'll be very glad if she starts going to bed at 7/7:30 from now on!

Chat Icon she adapts then. I wish we could switch DD too, but having to schlep her out so early makes it impossible...I'd love more time with her at night Chat Icon

If Kaitlyn sleeps till 7, that would still fit into our morning schedule. I just hope she doesn't sleep past that and then I don't see her on the days when the nanny comes! Chat Icon

I put him to bed about a 1/2 hour later tonight then usual, and he slept an hour longer during his nap this afternoon.

I have no idea if it had anything to do with the change of time though, either way he's asleep and his short/change of time day is over. Back to normal tomorrow. Chat Icon

Same. We are always go with the flow type of people. Just happens that Steven gets tired at the same time every day (or there about).
