What's a good convertible car seat for occasional use
DD is now 12 months and it looks like the infant carrier days are limited. DH occasionally needs to take her somewhere (daycare 1x a week) but we pretty much always use my car when together. I have the Britax that will go in my car but what could I get for DH's car without spending a fortune and not risking safety?

What's a good convertible car seat for occasional use
The Cosco Scenera gets top safety ratings and is under $50 at Target or Walmart. It also has a very high rear-facing weight limit and is very roomy compared to our other seats.
It's a great seat, the only downside is its not super padded, but for occassional use it's totally fine

This...we have it for my mom's car and she seems to be comfy enough. She even rode in it for a 4 hr car ride and was fine. It was like $40 at Target.

This is a forward facing only seat..
I second the Scenera... It is great as a back up seat.

I just ordered the Serena for FIL car as a backup. It was only 30 on walmart.com and free shipping.

It's a forward facing seat that converts to a booster when they are ready - more for ages 2+.

Looking at the scenera and I'm seeing a lot of negative reviews that it's difficult to install rear facing and some people have to use a pool noodle?! Anyone experience this?
