What would you rather have...

... assuming that the square footage is the same, would you rather have smaller rooms but more of them or larger rooms but less of them?

I find a lot of older homes have smaller rooms-- and anything that is built new-- everything is huge. I think the reason for this is just the way we live now. I think larger rooms will make you happier in the long run.

Larger rooms are easier to entertain in. You can sit more people, put up folding chairs and have more options for furtniture placement.

I always like larger rooms becasue that's how the house I grew up in was. The rooms were all huge and I became used to that.

I have an older home, almost 35 and we have the biggest bedrooms I have seen in ranches.

considering how low the value is for housing on LI, I just say... get as much square footage as possible!

I would get the most sq ft as possible. You can always take walls down in small rooms to make a big one.
