What would you do
This weekend is my cousins 30th birthday I live in queens, she lives in philly. Its about a 2-3 hour drive. I am 21 weeks along and on the weekends I usually relax because I work 50 hours during the week. The party is in a crowded bar with drunk people and I really don't feel comfortable going. My aunt and my father are giving me tremendous guilt about it. they don't understand that I don't want to drive 3 hours, spend 150+ on a hotel room (bc mind you my aunt said there would be room hopefully on a couch and if not a floor space is totally open, yes she is in fact an ACTUAL MORON) and then driving home the next day. I'm not trying to make excuses or use my being pregnant as an out for everything but C'MON! you can't give me a pass on this one?! I mean really. I guess I'm just asking, Am I being a baby should I be going?

I wouldn't go either. I don't like going to bars locally, let alone hours away.
Stay home & nap it up!

Re: What would you do
I think you're OK to pass on it. FWIW, I spent hours in the car this weekend going to a family event in NJ and my back hurt for days afterwards...

Re: What would you do
Nope, wouldn't go. Does Philly have the same laws about smoking in the bars? Cause if they don't that would be a huge issue right there.

Re: What would you do
are you close with your cousin? Personally I would probably go but we go to Philly all the time and at 26 weeks I still feel really good and have no issues driving there (though we prefer the train).
BUT I wouldn't go if it's just because they are making you feel guilty. They have no right to do that.

Re: What would you do
If people can't understand why you would not want to go to a bar hours away at 21 weeks pregnant they need to get a grip Stay home

Re: What would you do
We are kinda close, and if I wasn't so tired on the weekends I would go but I went to a wedding 2 weeks ago and was so tired the next day. I just hate even having to justify myself to anyone. Thanks for the advice, I'd say I'm staying in

Don't go.. and if you are kinda close, explain it to her and just be like we'll do dinner to celebrate. But seriously, your aunt and dad.. and don't feel bad either.. you have to be comfortable and take care of yourself.

Re: What would you do
my dad I want to kill lately, out of the 2 wives he's had both had the luxary of not having to work, vs me having to work 50 hour weeks. He says ya know, some people can handle it and some people can't (meaning me bc I'm always tired) and my aunt is just stupid period end of story I can't be bothered with either of them
DH is furious that they are even making me feel remotely guilty, he said if you weren't I'd say we go of course but I can't imagine how you feel so I don't want to make you do anything.
I guess I"m answering my own question, I just don't want to hear it

Re: What would you do
Tell them your Doctor is forbidding you from going. My Doctor told me anything I don't want to do, blame on him. He doesn't mind.
