What would you do....

Another long one...sorry ladies but I need some advice BADLY!!

Ok so I am now faced with the "big" decision. Quick history. Trying for over a year, miscarriage back in May, diagnosed with PCOS and seeing fertility specialists now for last 6 months or so after rounds and rounds of clomid through regular OB/GYN prior with no result. When I took the clomid alone I didn't even get a mature egg ever. Then since seeing specialist I have been put on Metformin as well as Clomid and have made 1 good egg if any, and had 2 failed IUI's already. Frustration is RISING and I am about to give up because I can NOT take the emotional roller coaster of this all :(
However, if I choose to try again I will need to decide if I want to bump up to 250mg of Clomid(what I am told is the max) and the Metformin with another shot at IUI....OR...I can move on to the injectables and hope not to hyperstimulate. If I try that and do hyperstimulate they said we can jump into an IVF as soon as they see too many eggs. They said they start at a very low dose and see what happens if that doesnt work then they bump it up and that is where you run the risk of hyperstimulation. (which tells me that it probably wont even work on the first round which means i am pretty much setting myself up for disappointment and I really don't want to do more than one more try) He said that if he wanted to make the next octo mom i would be his first candidate BUT I am only making 1 good egg on the clomid. I dont know what to do but I have to make a decision as I am seeing him tomorrow morning and need to tell him what I want to do. AAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!

It depends on if you are ready for IVF. I would personally say you are and probaby should since its taking almost max clomid to even make one good egg. (said with kindness) Do you have insuance that will kick in to help you if you decide to harvest the eggs for an IFV cycle. Also cant you just harvest and freeze the extra eggs until you ready?
And just because you make a lot of eggs dosent mean you have to have sex or IUI that month - I know it kind of seems like a waste but if your just not sure and want to see how the meds will work for you that is an option .

And just because you may make 8 (octo mom ) eggs dosent mean that they will all fertilize and/or all take even if you did IUI.
We did clomid - no results then did a small amt of gonnal - f and made 5 eggs - tried anyway and didnt get pregnant with any of them. Then went to IVF w/ Dr B who moniters you closely and we made 32 eggs, 18 fertilized and only 8 made it to blasts. so there is still a lot of variables.

Id try the injs. at a lower dose just to see what happens. It will also give u and dr a good indication of how much your going to need when/if u need to harvest.

I would do the injectables. If you hyperstimulate you can move to IVF or just cancel that IUI.

They also monitor you very closely so they can lower your dosage if you are starting to hyperstimulate.

If you are not responding to the Clomid, I think that the injectables would be a good idea.

I was never on clomid, but I responded well to injecables without hyperstimulating.

I did Clomid and got a few eggs each time with IUIs.

On injections, they start you on a very low dose & work up. I did one round of these before IVF.
