What would you do..
What would you do if you went to a party and they served a 6ft. hero to eat? I know your not supposed to eat deli meat while pregnant, but would you eat it anyway, or starve and don't eat it? I know I'm being paranoid!!

I ate a piece of hero at around 10 Weeks. I figured one piece wouldn't hurt me. Plus, the doctor said I could have cold cuts, in moderation.

I've actully been in this situation and I ate it. I believe (and my doctors tell me) that you can have anything in moderation minus alcohol, of course. So, I ate cold cuts/deli meats, tuna, soft cheeses throughout my pregnancy. I just didn't eat them everyday. Once piece of hero, or even 2 won't do any harm.

OK so now I don't feel so bad. I was thinking if they only have deli at this party that I'm going to I would just eat it anyway. I do feel guilty though!

I am paranoid about this too, and honestly, I wouldn't eat it. I do believe in moderation for some things - like caffeine, tuna, even wine. However, the cold cut thing is about bacteria. There is no moderation there. If I eat cold cuts that have listeria, just that one time, I am ingesting that bacteria. I would just eat the bread and sides if they had it. But of course this is me. Most women don't worry about it and have absolutely no issues.
