What Would You Do.

I love my job, love it. I feel like I have been really excelling at my job too. My boss actually told me he knows I work hard. But then the President of the company told me today " I need more from you ". Ok, well I travel on weekends for them. I think I was away at least 4 weekends out of the year. I have done company work over the weekend without being asked. I had samples that were sent on a Friday due on Monday that I was on the phone with Fedex over all last weekend. I have been copying him on tons of things I have been doing lately. So I am not sure what more is, and honestly I thought I was doing more. I am acutally kind of upset about it.

I am just not sure how to do more? I have come up with program ideas which they asked me to do more of. It seems like when they ask me to do more I do it, and then its " We need more".

They always need more. Some bosses are just never happy and keep pushing you to see how much they can squeeze out of you. Don't let it get to you, just keep doing a great job!! Unless this is his way of saying "You're doing a great job, I want to see this continue from you". Chat Icon Chat Icon

I'm sorry. It sounds from what you wrote that you're a hard worker.

I would find out what the expectations are and what the President meant when he said he needed "more." In what context did the President of the company say that he needed more from you? In respect to one project? In respect to your overall job performance? If you didn't understand what he meant, did you ask for clarification?

Can you ask your boss his or her thoughts on this? Is it possible your boss is not filtering all of the correct information up the chain?

Re: What Would You Do.

Its funny because we were talking about one specific project, but it was almost a side comment. I am always so concerned with taking notes when I meet with him that I sometimes don't realize the comments that are made until I review the meeting afterwards in my own head.

My boss actually told me he just needed folders and the president wanted me to do more. That is when he said I need you to do more. So it might have been a miscommunnication from my boss. Still makes me mad.
