What would you do?

We are currently trying to plan my best friends bridal shower (she is getting married May 30th). My due date is March 26th so any dates from mid March to Mid April isn't good for me for her shower.

It was decided that we would have the shower sometime in February before I have the baby. Well today via email the other 6 bridemaids agreed on Feb 2nd and pretty much xnayed all other weekends in Feb. I know that my baby shower is Feb 3rd.

Would you agree to the Feb 2nd date knowing that your shower is the next day?

I will almost 8 months pregnant and I'm just not sure if I would be able to handle both showers in the same weekend......and I don't want to be exhausted for mine.

Thanks for any advice.

I would explain to them how your shower is the next day and you don't know if you'll have the energy for 2. Ask if they can choose another weekend. If not I guess you have no choice...being it's 6-1. Hope it works out for you.

I am 8 months now, and two showers in one weekend sounds like a LOT to me! You may be able to handle it, but chances are, you will be dragging for the one on Sunday.

No other dates in Februrary worked for the other bridesmaids? I don't think you are worng in asking for another date.

If i was you i would tell them honestly about your shower being the next day and your not gonna be up to doing both. Did they say why the other weekends werent good? Maybe they can switch plans around...its not fair to you being that far along to have to go threw all that. Hope it works out Chat Icon

That's a tough one. You don't want to be considered 'too difficult' because they are trying to plan around you. What time are both of the showers? I, personally, would probably just leave it the 2nd and tell everyone now that yours is the next day. That way you can leave when it's over(not like you can carry the gifts anywhere Chat Icon ) and go home and go to sleep!!!

I think you should be fine. If there are 6 other bridesmaids they should be able to do alot of the work.

Volunteer for jobs that don't require you to do any traveling, lifting etc...

I was only in my first trimester for my SIL's shower but they gave me the job of being the RSVP person & I made the hat at the shower.

Both were great ways to be involved.

I agree with this answer. I would explain your situation and hope they can agree on another weekend. If not, they are already planning around you which is very cool of everyone, so perhaps you can just attend the bridal shower, but not do too much work. I'm sure the others would understand. Good luck!!!

Re: What would you do?

Personally they are trying to accommodate you already so I would probably just agree and take off that monday.

I had my shower this weekend, I am 32w+ and the day before I had a 75th birthday party until about midnight, didnt go to sleep until 2am. Anyway, I was fine through both events but really dragging all day yesterday, if I had of known I would have taken yesterday off to recover.
