What would you do?
If you did not get paid days off, but needed to take 2 days off, would you mark your timecard as 3 days worked or put a full week and if caught pretend it was a mistake (hoping it wasn't caught)? My co-worker was very surprised at what I did.

If someone that worked for me tampered with their hours they would be fired! It's totally dishonest among other things . JMO

I'm bold in my own right, but even I would be too chicken to do something like that.
Not to mention, I'm not rich enough to afford to be fired!!!

I'd mark 3 days worked. I couldn't live with the guilt of lying like that.

Re: What would you do?
Thanks so much for answering my poll, everyone. I couldn't believe when my co-worker told me I should have marked my time card for a full week when I was only in for 3 days! I mean, I would LOVE to get paid for a full week, but I'm not going to try to TRICK my way into getting extra $$.

Re: What would you do?
it's stealing to say you worked when you didn't. Is it really worth getting fired for cause and not having unemployment or a reference?

I would mark the 3 days. Your co-worker sounds like she should be nominated for 'employee of the month'

Re: What would you do?
I'm too honest and would have that guilty feeling waiting for the "mistake" to be caught. I'd be way too afraid of the disciplinary action from trying to do something like that, it's seen as stealing from the company.
I'd never be able to enjoy those 2 days off!!

Re: What would you do?
Mark the 3 days. This is not the way to dispute any company policies. Theft of company time is a reason that some companies have to keep lower pay rates.

Ditto -so NOT worth getting fired over and soooo dishonest!
If you make this behavior a normal occurence, I certainly wouldnt tell any of your co-workers. No wonder she was surprised.
