What Would You Do
DH & I bought floor model furniture. After it was all paid for and we left the store DH realized it was still sitting on display. He called the store & spoke to the manager who said the furniture would remain on display until delivery.
DH is pi$$ed off that we weren't told about this and his immediate reaction is to get our $$ back. I told him it is his call.
What would you do? Keep your fingers crossed that nothing happens to it during the holiday sale weekend, or go get your $$ back?
We don't own an SUV and we tried getting a U-haul but there are none available for us to get ourselves immediately.

Re: What Would You Do
is this something that you asked the store when you were making the arrangements for the purchase? did you sign any kind of agreement about damage to the furniture... like say, it's in such and such condition upon agreement, so therefore it has to remain in such condition until you receive it? if the store told you it would be taken off display and then they didn't, i would demand my money back or that it be taken off display. if this wasn't something you thought to bring up prior... i'm not sure, i think i would prob try to get my money back. the chances of anything happening to it are slim... but there's always that "what if" in the back of my mind. i'd be pretty upset if i paid for furniture of a certain condition and i got it with some huge scratch, stain or dent in it. that's just me though. when you went back and said something about it being on display still, and they told you it would remain there until delivery, did you ask them what happens if something happens to the furntiture in these next few days? are you just supposed to pay for something that has damage to it, that wasn't there when you first saw the furntiture? i wish you luck, whatever you decide!

Re: What Would You Do
What store? If it is a big store (Raymours, Macys, etc) you could probably get your money back no problem. Could you refuse delivery if it comes damaged?
We bought a floor model once and they took it away and packed it up immediately.

Re: What Would You Do
they should wrap it up and put sold on it.
Now way, if they didn't do that I would get my money back.

I agree with the PP, they should at least agree to put a "Sold" sign on it, so people know not to flop on it or try to buy it. It should be ok that way. Can you ask them if they could at least do that?

I'd have to agree with this as well.
