What would you do???
I am throwing DS a surprise 30th birthday this saturday at a bar. I am paying $25 per person for OPEN BAR & appetizers and I am having about 40-45 people. There will be 3 pregnant women there and obviously they will NOT be drinking. Do you think it's cheap of me to ask the owner if I can pay less for them? Or you think I should just pay the $75 even though none of them will be drinking any alcohol?
Just a side note: Originally I was thinking about just doing the open bar and no food and the owner told me I might as well have the food b/c it is basically free. What I'm paying for is the liquor, they throw the food in as a bonus.

I would ask. The worst thing that can happen is he will say no. They may not be free but you could end up with a discounted rate.

Don't ask. For the sake of 3 people not drinking it's not worth it. Not necessarily everyone else there will be drinking as well, it all balances out (those who will really drink, those who won't).

personally I would give them a count of three people less...simply because there are always a few people that dont even show...does that make sense?
