What would you do?

I posted earlier that my clothes (shirts mostly) are starting to get a little tight. Would it be really bad to start getting some maternity shirts? Or would you just get shirts that are like a size or 2 bigger than what you are wearing now?

Re: What would you do?

I have gotten away with just going up a size.

I also have completely cut out button up shirts. Thank goodness it is winter & I can wear light sweaters under my work jackets.

It cant hurt to buy maternity shirts like the cotton ones from Motherhood or Target cause you will grow into them and they are comfy too.

Target always has them and clearance too!

ETA: I also find that they are longer so dont creep up as you get bigger..they cover the belly.

I think it all depends on your situation as well. Have you told your boss and co-workers yet? If not I would suggest getting a few tops in a bigger size. Not a complete waste because you can hide the pregnancy a little longer and you can wear them post-pregnancy until you get back into your regular clothes.

In my opinion, maternity clothes have a tendency to accentuate your pregnant belly - the design alone with the space in the belly just makes you look pregnant - IMO.

Although - you can find some maternity tops that are the exception and I have to credit Liz Lange with having a lot of things that are not in your face preggo. Target even has some simple crew and v-neck tops that really flatter everyone and while they have room for the tummy - it's not that cutsie obvious stuff.

Again...only if you are still in hiding would I say no...otherwise - they are such comfy clothes and once you do announce it - they make the whole self-image a lot better since you feel prego in them and look preggo.
