What were your symptoms??
That you were going into labor?
And, can someone explain a mucous plug to me? NO ladies, it's not time... I'm just curious!

Re: What were your symptoms??
Sorry, I had no signs, I was scheduled for an induction at 39 weeks but I did feel the baby doing the jig on my bladder for 2 weeks before I gave birth and pain in my pelvis, she was most likely descending

Re: What were your symptoms??
I was induced but a couple of weeks before I had my daughter I had terrible menstrual like cramps and started losing pieces of my mucus plug.

Re: What were your symptoms??
When you lose your plus yyou will see blood and mucus. It can come out all at once or very slowly. Losing your plug is a sign that labor is near. But how near you just dont; know. It could be hours or weeks. When you lose your plug, the baby is still protected. you can have s*x and take baths. It's when your rupture your membranes (water breaks) that your baby is no longer protected and you must call your dr. asap.
Cramping is also a sign. but it can also be braxton hicks. You'll know when it is happening but then again you may also be in denial too. Anticipating it is the best part IMO. It can happen at any time. you can be walking to your mailbox to get the mail.....baking cookies....watching TV or playing a board game. You just never know.
I will give you 2 examples of both of my births. I was 4 days late with DD#1. I wasn;t dialated at all and my cervix wasn;t even soft yet. But on that 4th day of being late I started having a backache early that morning. It was dull but never went away. Mid afternoon it became stronger but still tolerable. By early evening I went to the bath room and blood came out. that was the start of my plug coming out. By 10:00 pm my water broke. At 12:19 am I had my daughter. everyting happen to me in one day. i had contractions followed by losing my plug, then my water broke and I went to the hospital. It was pretty much text book but I was also 4 days late.
With DD # 2 I lost my plug 3 weeks early. I was also walking around 3 cm dialted for 2 weeks. My water never broke so my dr. ended up breaking it for me and I had her 45 minutes later. She was born 3 days early.
Those are my examples but if you talk to 50 more girls they will have their own experiences. Basically everyone's stories are similar but different.
Good luck. I know you have time but it's exciting and nerve racking thinking about it.
