What we're all in store for
My 4 year old nephew is staying with us this weekend. He has had me up since 5am (he was coughing). Of course he slept  DH leaves and I decide to try and get more sleep since I am exhausted. Of course, 2 minutes after I lie down - there is a little person standing next to the bed clutching his stuffed monkey looking too cute. I ask him to get into bed and try sleeping a little bit more.
Just as I am about to fall back to sleep, he puts his hand on my face and says "Aunt Donna - I'm done!" And has been raring to go since.
So I get up and he wants a plain bagel for breakfast. So I cut it for him and he sits on the couch while I am at the computer desk. He comes up to me and tells me that I dropped bagel crumbs on the couch. When I asked him how could I have done it when I didn't eat a bagel, he told me "you dropped it when you gave me the bagel"  Of course he keeps telling me there is no way HE could've dropped bagel crumbs while he was eating 
I can't wait for my kid to do this

I love the *reasoning* skills of kids that age!!!
Not long ago, my nephew was sent to his room for a "time-out" for being fresh. He chose to stay in his room longer than the required 5 minutes. When he came out and apologized to my sister, she asked why he stayed in his room longer.
"I couldn't come out, Mom- the madness was still in me..."
