What type of Benadryl do you keep in the house incase of allergic reactions?
Knock on wood, I dont think we have any problems with allergies. But my ped. said it is a good idea to have it in the house god forbid. I went to the store and there are a bunch of different kinds. DS is 1 now...so what kind should I keep and if something were to happen, how much would I give him?

I think the one we have is Children's Allergy. I've never used it; we just have it.

Plain old "Children's Benadryl". They don't make infant so this is the only one, and the ped. will give the dosage. Thank goodness, so far I've never needed it!

Thanks  I wasn't sure if they made an infant one and I was missing it.

Children's Bendyrl....I use the premeasured ones for my purse. I actually use the children's version myself and double the dose.

I always Childrens Ben in the house.
My DH is allergic to alot
So we are afraid this could have been passed down to her - so we want to make sure we are prepared.
We always have it in stock for him as well - he has to take it all of the time

Two weeks ago, my stepson, age 8, had an allergic reaction to an antibiotic he was taking for strep. I went to Pathmark at 1:30 a.m. to get Children's Benedryl because we didn't have it in the house, so it is a great idea to keep in the house!! Now I'll have it for DS too since it's just Children's Benedryl for infants too.
