what to send down to florida
We will be going on vacation to my parents house in florida. No disney or anything, it is a beach, pool, zoo, etc vacation. So we will be at the house alot. We are gonna buy some stuff on amazon and have it sent down some in advance cause some stuff it would be silly and bulky to bring, we will bring sippy cups, books, dvd's and a few favorite small toys. We go 1-2 times a year and other kids will get to use this stuff over the years so I don't mind getting somethings.... what else can you think of???? Oh, DS is 19 months.
thinking of sending down:
T-ball set balls booster seat for eating plate/utensil set
My parents are also talking about getting a car/trike we can push him on cause we do that EVERYDAY at home!

The major stuff I'd send are diapers & an umbrella stroller. Makes traveling much easier.

We will have our stroller with us for the airport and stuff. I am thinking more along the lines of his staying entertained and not getting bored!

what to send down to florida
My parents went to a 2nd hand store near Tampa and bought toys that were easy to store since they don't have a ton of room and spanned a few years.
Books, blocks, matchbox cars. They then asked their friends to borrow things. Many had all sorts of toys and even a car seat and various sleeping options since they all had grand kids and many had outgrown items.

Re: what to send down to florida
I did this with my parents except we didn't really think long term so I think you are more on the right page. DD went at about 16 months. They purchased on their own a crib, a highchair and a bathtub. We picked up balls, a set of beach toys, a small train set, a stacking toy, pool noodles/floats, etc. I have a girl, so we brought her baby doll stuff and blankets and books. I think the bike is a very good idea and super useful while you are there. I mean that could even go to the zoo with you. My parents don't really have land (it's an apartment) but if you have yard space I'd suggest a water table, a playhouse or a sprinkler like water toy. For inside toys, maybe a thing of legos or megablocks?

sprinkler/water table and toys is a great idea! DS LOVES that stuff! They have a house, with a big driveway and are in a cul de sac. i just can't trust him in the yard cause of the canals (and possible gators!).
they actually bough a convertible fold up crib for him last time so it was ready too! We had a pack n play from last time, but he is too big now!

what to send down to florida
We just rented a house for a week and I was happily surprised to find they had a bunch of toys there. There were two 2.5 year old girls and the big hits were lego duplos and sports stuff like balls, lacrosse sticks, paddle ball sets. They also loved the kid sized chairs, both indoor rockers and outdoor chairs. We brought a blow up pool which was great for both the beach and the yard and of course sand toys. I would pick things he won't grow out of too quickly so I'd probably opt for something like a little wagon he can pull around or a trike over the push car he'll grow out of quickly.
