What to send?
A very close friend was just diagnosed with non-hodgkins lymphoma...and she's about 25 weeks pregnant. So upsetting.
I can only offer to take her to her chemo when dh is home and can help with my two girls, which isn't often.
I call and check in, but want to send something.
I was thinking maybe a fresh fruit basket or even better a gift card to a local restaurant. She recently moved to forest hills right when she was diagnosed. It would be nice if she and her dh got a break and got to enjoy dinner somewhere
Anybody know a good restaurant in forest hills? Even if they can't go, maybe they could bring it in.

Re: What to send?
I'm very sorry to hear this. And offering to go to chemo is so very sweet. For food, she might not want to go out, so I would do some places that will deliver or they can pick up for take out. Forest hills has so many good restaurants. They have Nick's pizza which people love. For a chain restaurant that's organic and great, I'd recommended Bareburger.

Thank you. I'll look into those. She mentioned today when she's feeling better she would like to get out. She hasn't been able to explore her new neighborhood.

Re: What to send?
So terrible but she's lucky to have a friend as thoughtful as you.
Narita is a great hibachi restaurant in Forest Hills (we used to live there and still refuse to have hibachi anywhere else).
Obviously that's really if she feels like getting out a bit.

Portofino is an amazing Italian restaurant. I believe they have a pianist sometimes.

Gift certificates to food are always good. Is she going through chemo? What about some books, comfy blanket and or comfy clothes? Since she's pregnant she may not have a lot of comfortable maternity clothes like a regular wardrobe.

Yeah. She's doing chemo right now. I thought about a comfy robe and magazines and movies.
She's still working as of now. She can't take public transportation so she has to take cabs or uber.

Maybe an Amazon gift card so she could have necessities delivered instead of having to go out?
