What to do with the floor...

We have a room in the back of our house that we're currently renovating...getting rid of the 1950's wood panneling and ceiling tiles. After the walls and ceiling are done we will be ripping up the carpet. We're going to use this room as a spare bedroom/future nursery. DH and I are torn whether to do wood floors or carpets...anyone have any advice or suggestions that may point us in the right direction?

Personally, i'm not a fan of wall to wall carpet in any room. If it were me, I'd go with hardwood floors and put an area rug down.

This is what we were leaning towards but one friend suggested carpet if it was going to be a nursery in the future.

We'll stick with our gut and do a hard wood floor.

Thanks ladies!!

I have carpet in 2 rooms in my house and one beign the nursery. I am sorry I did it. For a bunch of reasons I wish I put wood down but I really regret my decision the day DS threw up an ENTIRE BOTTLE of MILK!!!!!! THe smell would not go away. I had to shampoo the carpet 5x for it to finally go away!

I would suggest HW and you can always put an area rug.

This would be my reasoning for not doing carpet in the nursery if our house didn't already have hardwoods. I feel like it would be stain central!
