What to do about big 30th birthday plans for a friend?
We are supposed to go out in the city this weekend taking a limo I will only be 5 weeks I already paid $$ can't back out and I do NOT want any of them to know! What do I do!?!? Order drinks and then pretend I'm drinking I'm lost here and really don't want to go! Help!

hmm that's tough. I would go and order alcohol-free drinks that you could easily cover up as mixed drinks. Like a soda and say it's rum and coke or order a cranberry juice and say it's vodka cranberry. And just nurse that drink for a lonnnng time. I was worried about this before going to a family BBQ where everyone drinks and expects me to drink. I was about 6 weeks along. I didn't drink and nobody noticed (or at least nobody said anything). I had the same thing happen to me I had a beer in my hand the whole time I just pretended to sip it in the limo and when i got to bar I told the bartender to give me club soda with a lime the whole time it worked perfectly

I agree with these ladies, fake the drinks. Is DH going to the party too? Have him bring the non alcoholic drinks to you or help you drink your drinks when people are not looking.
I tried the "I'm hungover" and "I already had a coffee earlier" when I would order decaf and I got the third degree from my friends! I buckled at a brunch at 5 and a half weeks because they knew something was up when I didn't have any of the drinks included in the meal!  they knew i would normally never pass up free drinks, hangover or not!

YES! Honestly if anyone straight out asks just lie and say NO! Once they have a couple themselves they will never notice you are not drinking

Definitely do fake drinks. That or you can say that you are on antibiotics (but when I did people suspected) so it doesn't really work as well.

I had similar experience with my sister in laws bachelorette party. I was only like 8 weeks and it was a surprise pregnancy. I ended up just telling her (the bride) that I was pregnant and wasn't going. I also told my brother so he wasn't upset with me for not attending his wife to be's bachelorette party. THey absolutely understood.
