what to bring to a BBQ?
this is what people are already bringing:
hamburgers, hot dogs, buns, sausage, kielbasa, baked beans, beer all paper goods, etc..
potato salad, smores bars, beer
fruit platter, beer
cookies
tri-colored pasta salad and spinach dip
what should I bring? Any suggestions?
eta: not feeling mac salad or cole slaw - so is there anything else that's neat (as in fun)?
eta again: someone suggested something to me last year - booze-soaked watermelon or something? Anyone have that recipe?

Re: what to bring to a BBQ?
Take the watermelon and make a hole. Tunnel a little into it and start pouring in coconut rum or vodka. Do it slowly - let it settle and soak and pour more in. You will probably get about 2 cups in. Let it soak.. that's about all she wrote!
You can also soak Maraschino cherries in Everclear for a few days.. that's DELICIOUS.
As to other things - Buffalo Chicken Dip is usually a pretty big hit. Stromboli goes over pretty big if you have an oven to heat it in once you are there. Sometimes I will just ORDER a big platter of fried chicken from S&S and bring that. It's like $50 for a ton of chicken and it's really good!
Good luck!
