What to bring on vacation?
We leave for Aruba in a few weeks and Mason will be 21 months at that time.
What are good things to bring for him without packing too much! DH and IL's are ready to pack up his playroom I just want to bring the minimal. We'll be on the beach or by the pool during the day. Figured he only needs things to entertain him when we're getting ready for dinner or something for dinner. Here's what I have: shovel and pail for the beach coloring book and crayons DVD player and some movies a couple of books (3 or 4 the most) his leapfrog computer he loves two stuffed animals he sleeps with at night paci's - yeah, I know he still has them for night time only anything else? what's good for the plane besides movies? Thanks!

Me?
Sorry. I had to. If I didn't say it, someone else would.
As for a real suggestion, what about one of those toys that suctions to the table while they are eating. My DS always pulls it off, but it keeps him occupied (and it's quiet).
Oh and how about some plastic bath books, good for bath, beach, plane, dinner....

LOL! Sure, we can fit you in the luggage. Although luggage costs almost as much as a ticket
Thanks! THe bathbook is a good idea

Re: What to bring on vacation?
Just one thing about the portable DVD player - not sure if it's different because Mason is older but, DS kept trying to shut it on our recent trip - so it was a waste to bring it (he did enjoy playing with the DVD boxes though - and they came in handy when we got there since our resort didn't have Nick Jr).

I think what you have is more than enough. The only other thing is a bag of balloons. I know it sounds silly, but when we brought my mom on vacation last year with us, she brought balloons and the kids loved it (they were 2 & 3) . You can always pop them when you are done and throw em out. It really kept the entertained in the room before bed.

Good idea... maybe bubbles and a beach ball to blow up. Cheap enough that if we left them there that's fine
also a float for DS. Duh!

We are going to Aruba as well in June! My DS will be 22 months....your list helped me out,,,,I'll be bringing most of that as well........definitely books for the plane, and also one of those pads that you draw on and erase, right now he loves that....hopefully he will still like it in June.

Re: What to bring on vacation?
Where are you staying? We were just there in December....
Additionally, I would suggest to bring: pool toys (we use the bath toys with holes in the pool now) a baby float (we stayed at the Marriott Surf Club - you need a float for the lazy river ) life jacket (if you have one for DS) coloring books and triangle crayons so they don't roll off the table swim diapers (you can certainly get them there u they are a lot more expensive)
ETA: sticker books. You can get them at Amazing Savings. They are super cheap and will entertain for hours!
You can buy pretty much ANYTHING there at the super markets. There is an amazing IGA that sells all american products.

Funny, another poster was just there in Dec b/c she was hooking me up with a taxi service that has carseats. We stay at the Ocean Club next door, but my SIL and her BF will be at the Surf so we always borrow the bracelets to go into the lazy river. Yes! Swimmy diapers. My DH and MIL go rent a car or take a taxi to the store to get all the food so not worried about that I'll remember to get some cheap, pool toys just incase we leave it there. Last year we gave it to a couple with young kids
