What time train would you take?

I'm going to the city tomorrow to see a show that starts at 4pm. The theater is 12 blocks, or 2 subway stops from Penn. I can take a train that gets in at 2:39 or one that gets in at 3:09. Which would you choose? In case it matters, it's an off-Broadway show in a small theater with no assigned seating. Doors open at 3:30, but I'm not particularly concerned about where I sit.

2;39. Lirr is never on time. Plus I'd always leave extra time as a buffer

2:39 I would rather be early then rushing if the train is late.

This. I like to get in early to take my time getting there and not have to worry about unforeseen delays on the LIRR or subway. Plus you can always stop for a drink if you have time to kill

Normally I would say the 309 but with the holidays there are crowds everywhere and walking anywhere is just taking a little bit more time.

Re: What time train would you take?

Thanks all. I was adamantly for arriving at 3:09, but I was traveling with a bunch of nervous nellies so we took the earlier train. We arrived in Penn 5 minutes early and walked to the theater. We were still there 30 minutes early. Not a big deal, but standing around on 47th street for 30 minutes was not my favorite part of the day, lol!
