What the heck is this? Diaper rash/irritation ???

What the heck is this? Diaper rash/irritation ???
yesterday as I changed Chloe i saw on her thigh, right above where the diaper hits, a large red welt. it almost looked like a burn , it was puffy. I got a & D ointment last night, and the puffiness went down today its just red. She was wearing a BRU brand diaper, so we have Luvs, i changed it to those today.
tonight Syd had an explosion diaper ( ouch) and as I was changing her on the same leg in the same spot is an even worse welt then what Chloe had. same thing though.
I have not seen anything like this before. Syd had the Luvs diapers on.
So is it irritation? ( the only other similarity is that they were both wearing yest and today black pants and the pants appeared to be rubbing the area.
It cant be the diapers right? If it was 2 different brands and we have used both for a while?
It just looks SO painful I want to make sure it doesnt happen again!

We have a similiar thing here too but my dd's is like a scab. I think its an irritation from the diaper. I am thinking of maybe trying the next size up like maybe its too tight closer to her thigh.

I thought this with Chloe...that it was too loose...She could actualy go a size DOWN in diapers, but they are just right for Syd...so I buy the same size to make it easier, so it didnt seem to fit..
I have just never seen an irritation cause such a blister looking welt.

Tyler has super sensitive skin and gets the worst diaper rashes. He has has what you described.
Put something stronger on it, like Triple Paste. That should take care of it fairly quickly.
