What Swing do you love?
I received about three different swings for my shower--travel swings and a new one with stars/canopy
I dont want to keep all of them and I am wondering what your faves are (if any)

We have the Fisher Price Aquarium cradle swing.
My inlaws have the take a long swing at their house, but I dont think they are crazy about them

I used the Fisher Price Aquarium, it was great, used it all the time. My sister used the Papasan swing and really liked that. Those are two good choices I think. Just a note on the travel swings, they only swing front to back. My son only liked swinging side to side.

ETA: I think the swing you are talking about with the stars and canopy is a newer version of the Papasan.

I had the same ones... I wouldn't have survived the first few months w/o swings. They were perfect in the beginning!!

We have the fisher price Rainforest swing and love it. I love that it plugs in so I don't go through tons of batteries. DD loves the swing. I don't know what I would do without it.

I have the Fisher Price Butterflies & Birds. It is similar to the Aquarium one but just a different pattern. I LOVED it!!! The best thing about it was that it turned around so it could swing side to side instead of front to back. That is the only way DD really liked to swing. We had a travel swing for when we traveled... and DD really did not like it very much. That one only went front to back, so I am attributing her different reaction to the direction of the swinging.
I really love the one you are describing you got. It seems very serene. But I would be concerned about the canopy. As long as it can come off you should be fine so that your baby doesn't start trying to grab at it. My DD was in her swing until she was almost 8 months old so she was able to grab at things by then.
Finally I really prefer the swings that have a mobile or something for the baby to look at. DD was kept entertained for quite a while by the mobile over her swing.

WOW!! I didn't know it did this. What a great feature. I guess I'll have to be getting a new swing if we have a second...

We have the fisher price aquarium take along swing. We like it b/c it folds up, dosen't take up that much room like the bigger swings. The batteries last a long time in it. Also when DC gets bigger they can still use b/c they swing sits so low to the ground they can't tip it over. DD is 11 months old and is still using the swing.

Loved the travel swing and baby papason swing!!!!!
the travel swing is good to bring places. My son slept in it alot if we visited friends or family in the first few months.

PS. HIJACK: I STILL have the FP soothing motions glider, pretty much brand new because DD HATED it. It's in mint condition. It retails for $70, I'm trying to sell it for $35. FM me if you're interested!
