What size should I get DS for the fall and winter?

I need to buy DS clothes for the fall and winter. He is 23 months and 23 pounds and has been the same weight for at least 6 months. He is wearing Carters 18 months, Childrens Place 18 months and Gap 18-24. All have room to grow.

I just pulled out the 2t stuff I have in the attic that were gifts that I stored. They are mostly Gap and Ralph Lauren and they are so big that I can't see these things fitting him for maybe another year. Will he really grow that much in a few short months?

Should I get more 18-24 stuff for the fall and hold off on winter stuff and reassess size then?

I have small girls and have similar issues with clothing. My 25 month old is 23 lbs. too. In the fall I think she will need 24month, maybe some 2T, for the length...though she fits the 12m and 18m shorts and skirts now in the summer. Luckily, as a girl, she can wear leggings which are slim fitting. I know brands that have full elastic all the way around the waist, like Children's Place, usually fit better than brands that only have elastic in the back and flat fronts.
