What should I expect?

I have an appointment next week at LI-IVF for a consultation. After charting and/or using OPKs for the past 6 months, its pretty clear that I have a luteal phase defect (average length is 9 days).

What should I expect at my first appointment? Should I bring everything with me (charts, calendars)?

Do you know which Dr you are seeing? Bring your charts. They will ask lots of questions and propose the next step (testing and such). I go to LI-IVF and have found it to be a great place.

Should I expect a physical exam too, or just lots of questions?

I see him too. You should not be having an exam for your consult. Bring any information you have. DH and I went together and Brenner had a lot of questions for us so he could write down our history. Then he gave us a plan of attack for tests we should get done.

He is a soft spoken man, who is all business, but kind. I had him for my ER and transfer (sometimes you get one of the other drs) and he was more personable on those days which was nice.

For my 1st appt at LI-IVF, DH and I met w/ the dr who asked us a million questions. Then she did an exam and took a lot of blood. She told me what other tests that I needed to have done and went over all of our options. I brought nothing with us, but u should bring whatever u have. Hope it goes well. I just met Dr. Brenner yesterday for my transfer and he was very nice.
