What now??

Hi Ladies,

I finally read the Kite Runner and A Thousand Splendid Suns. They were the first books in a WHILE that really captivated me and made me not want to put them down. I've tried reading a few others since then but get a few pages in and i'm so uninterested.

I'm almost depressed to not have any good reading material to look forward to now lol

Can anyone help???

Some really good ones I've read recently have been White Oleander and Reconstructing Amelia. I'm reading Divergent right now (young adult) and it's good so far.

Aside from Kitchen House, I've read all the above titles and you really can't go wrong with any of them.

A few other recent favorites of mine are Room by Emma Donoghue, The Universe Versus Alex Woods by Gavin Extence, Where'd You Go Bernadette by Maria Semple, The Silver Linings Playbook by Matthew Quick (a thousand times better than the movie, and I'm not usually a book snob) and anything by Jonathan Tropper.

ETA: You might also want to check out Life of Pi or The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho. They both sound to be more in the vein of the Kite Runner and A Thousand Splendid Suns than the above titles.

Thanks for the responses ladies!!

halfbaked - I started the Alchemist twice but just couldn't get into it. I will have to try again.

I will check out Divergent and Reconstructing Amelia. Does anyone have them available to lend?

Thanks again! XO

Yeah, it's a little slow (it doesn't pick up), but it was interesting. And I liked the sentiment behind it.

I have both Divergent and Reconstructing Amelia on my Nook, but neither are lendable. Sorry. Chat Icon

Divergent/Insurgent were both good, the third one comes out soon.

If you haven't read them, I recently did, The Hunger Games trilogy-- loved!!

Hopeless by Colleen Hoover-- great book, I couldn't put it down.
