What kind of milk do you give your DC?

Do you give them whole, 1% or 2% or skim? I was giving DS whole and Ped said he could be on 1% but he seems not satisfied. My mom said we were on 1%

Organic Whole milk (Ped recommended Whole Milk) but I have not asked recently if we should change 1%, 2%

DD is 2 1/2 and still drinks whole milk. Whole milk is the best for you....any other kind doesn't pack a lot of nutrients at all.

Older DS gets organic whole milk - plan on doing this until he's about 5....

I grew up next to a dairy farm and my parents gave us unpasteurized whole milk until I was 8...I'm fine except that younger DS has a milk protein allergy...

Organic whole milk with DHA- I actually thought he might be lactose intolerant but I can only find organic lactose free milk in 2%

my dr recommended that my DS stays on whole milk (he is 2) because he is under weight, he is only 19 1/2 lbs. and he needs the extra fat from the milk.
she said normally, he would have been on 2% , that is what she recommends for most 2 year olds and up.

DD is 3 and still drinks Whole Milk- the Ped said we are fine to keep her on Whole b/c she's well within the weight she should be and sometimes that's all the nutrients/fat she gets- from milk!

Whole milk until the ped tells us otherwise.

Whole milk. I just assumed that was what I was supposed to give him. I guess I should ask the pediatrian!

DS is 14 months old, I was told to keep him on whole milk.

Whole until age 2 and then down to 2% even though the doctor said we could do 1%.

whole milk here and will be as long as she drinks it!

DS is 20 mos and drinks organic whole milk.

miki was on whole milk until 2 years old, then we switched her to 2%

ds drinks whole milk... as far as i understand it they need the fat in the milk for developmental reasons

Thanks everyone. My ped told me that they don't really need the whole milk and the extra calories when they can get that in a meal. The fat that is in the 1% is enough. We have been doing 2% for a gallon and I don't feel it is filling enough for him and he wants more than just his 8 oz. We changed him b/c last week, I mentioned to the dr. that ds was getting constipated a lot. He eats A LOT of fruit and veggies.
