 Dilemma, need your opinions.
So, I've been searching for a crib and think I've found something that I'm extremely pleased with - price and style.
When I checked the Baby Bargains book, there was a discrepency in the rating. In it's detailed explanation, the crib is rated a C-, in the summary list, it is rated an A-. I emailed the authors and they confirmed that it was indeed a C-, that the crib's rating have dropped in recent years. It started with an A actually a few editions ago, and is now a C-. My question is, would you still buy it with such a current low rating, but know that in the past, it was rated an A?
Also, the platform is made of wood, not spring, should that be part of the deciding factor? Does it really matter?
Please tell me what you would do, because right now, I am torn.

I personally wouldn't buy something rated a C. Safety wise it should be fine because all cribs no matter how cheap or expensive have to meet certain criteria.

Do they explain why they lowered the rating?

If it has nothing to do with the safety or quality of the crib than I would still get it

If it has nothing to do with the safety or quality of the crib than I would still get it same here...
while i find the baby bargains book helpful, i don't "live and die" by it.
what is the brand and model? can you do some online searches to see what other people have said and/or find other ratings say from consumer reports?

I think it's Domusindo. This is just a guess because JC Penney omits the brand information on their website. I guessed Domusindo because it's imported from Indonesia. There's no information online either.
What about the platform? Spring vs. wood?

 Re: Dilemma, need your opinions.
If they rate it a C because of customer service issues and not safety issues then it should be ok.

I agree with this. They may also have lowered the rating because of the wood platform. I know they aren't fond of that. I think that many of the manufacturers are going to the wood though because the price of the steel used for the metal platforms has gone up so much in recent years.
