 | Re: Carpet in their basement? we carpeted our 12 x 24 family room (basement) with clearance berber carpet from home depot. We paid $120 for the piece of carpet, no padding & we glued it right to the sealed floor ourselves. |

 | Re: Carpet in their basement? ok dont laugh....I bought 950 sq ft. in my basement and I got it from Empire carpet...they came to the house with the samples and installed it the next day and they had the best price I got a really nice burber with a padding and it was a hard job but they stayed here until 1:30 Am and got it done...just remember whatever price they give bargin with them they come down...Hope that helps... |

 | Re: Carpet in their basement? Don't go too crazy with the spending on it, as basement carpet can get ruined in an instant (flood, leaks, unknown mold problem).
 And get a little extra padding, as it's generally a hard floor underneath which kids' heads are bound to find.

 Completely agree with not spending too much. My parents had carpet in their basement and had to pull it up after a flood this past summer.

 | Re: Carpet in their basement? We plan on getting the berber carpet squares. They are *about* 16"x16" squres.Where if certain parts of the carpet get ruined for whatever reason... you just pull up the squares and put new ones down instead of re-doing the entire carpet. |
