Need Mini-Vacation help, please!
I want to book a couple nights in the Poconos or Catskills or something....definitely something within driving distance (3-4 hours TOPS.)
Neither one of us has ever gone skiing before, so we'll probably stick to snow mobiling, etc.
2 questions:
a) Where can we go? Anyone have any places to suggest?
and
b) What else is there to do, other than snow mobile?

Anyone ever been to Shawnee, PA?
There's outlets nearby for shopping, and they offer beginner lessons for skiing, snowboarding....AND they have snowtubing sessions!!!

There is a brand new resort that just opened up a couple months ago in the poconos.
Its called Great Wolf Lodge.
They built the east coasts largest indoor water park in it..tons of restaurants, a spa, beautiful rooms, HUGE acrcade room, looks like tons of other things to do.

We went to the Ceasars Pocono Resorts a few Novembers ago and had LOTS of fun! There is seriously so much to do - it was great!

my parents just bought a vacation house there.. there is a big flea market on 209 (some junky stuff, but sometimes good finds!), there is tubing near foxwoods, and other ski areas, stroudsburg is a cute little town, and Milford is good too!

a lot of places have snow tubing, which is lots of fun if you're not a skiier.
