 | Let's share which parks have good toddler playgrounds. Since the weather's going to get nice soon, I thought it would be nice to have some ideas of where to take the kiddies to enjoy the sunshine.
So far we've been to Cedar Creek Park (on Merrick Road in Wantagh just east of the Wantagh parkway) and they have a great toddler playground. Swings, slides, things to climb on and in and the flooring is this neat spongy stuff so if they fall they won't get hurt.

We've also been to Wantagh Park (on Merrick Road in Wantagh just west of the Wantagh parkway) and they don't really seem to have toddler playground, just the swings. Or at least we haven't found it yet. ETA: Sarah loves to watch the people fishing and boating at the marina in the park.

We also go to Theodore Roosevelt Park in Oyster Bay, right on the water and with a small beach. Very pretty.

Ok - east/west is getting me confused. I go to Wantagh Park right by the wantagh pkwy by where the pools are - there is a toddler area, dog run, etc. We went there on saturday and kevin had a blast. loves the doggies too.

I usually just go on my block in S.Bellmore - small local park. If you around the area we should met up - now that I am home.

 | Re: Let's share which parks have good toddler playgrounds. We love Cedar Creek! Another good one I found is Seamans Neck Park (I think thats the name) Go south on Seamans Neck Road (south of Merrick) till you get to the end. Its on the water, lots of fun stuff for the kids including a sprinkler area in the summer.
I have more in the area, I just cant think of them off the top of my head, I'll post again.

We were at Wantagh Park on Saturday too! We were at the playground near the entrance. I'll have to look for the other one. We should definately meet up!

 | Re: Let's share which parks have good toddler playgrounds. Maybe we should meet up one day. I have a 4 year old and Sara is one month. I will be out wit her as soon as it is warm enough. I would go to Wantagh so sammy can run free and have fun. |

True! I grew up working at the concession at the pool there, so I know it well!

This is an awesome park for anyone who lives out in suffolk county. Free petting zoo, pool, playground, and a good walking path for the mommies!
