sanding / refinish hard wood floors
Has anyone ever had this done?
I've heard it makes a horrible mess -
we didn't plan on refininshing them, but when we pulled back the carpets, the origional floors turned out to be in better shape than we thought.
Do you have any one that you can recommend to do the job?

We did our prior to moving in. I can tell you there was a little residue left after they left but for the most part they cleaned everything up. My DH's cousin is in the business so if you would like his contact information please FM me.

We did the floor before we moved in and surprisingly it wasn't a big mess at all. We used a guy from East Rockaway who I though was reasonable. FM if you want details!

Same here. We did the floors before we moved in and it was not as dirty as I thought it would be.

We had the whole 1st floor done while living here and although the smell was awful and some mild dust does seem to get to the other levels in the house it was well worth it! You just have a to spend some time cleaning afterward and it will be fine

We did ours ourselves. The worst part is moving the furniture out and finding room for it elsewhere!
Oh, and we have a dog, so we moved out for 72 hours to make sure it dried completely before going back in (it was the main walkway through our house, so there was no avoiding it).
But overall it was pretty easy!
