My first post on parenting! Question...
My first post on parenting! I cant believe it..am I really here???
I was wondering, how much did your newborn eat to start out and how often? Megan is a week old and is a lazy eater. I just want to see if she is eating what everyone elses's babies did. TIA

Re: My first post on parenting! Question...
I breastfed, so I have no idea how much. But she would eat ever 3 hours for about 25-45 minutes.

Re: My first post on parenting! Question...
In the beginning she ate anywhere between 2-3 oz every 2-3 hours within the first few weeks. By about a month she was up to 4 oz every 3 hours or so and was giving slightly longer stretches at night.

Re: My first post on parenting! Question...
I guess my little girl is really a lite eater. At around a week old, she was eating 2-2.5 ounces about every 4 hours. She then went up to 3 ounces by about 2.5 weeks old, and then to 4 ounces by about a month old. She never really ate more than every 4 hours.
Now, at 4 months old, she is up to 5-6 ounces every 4 hours during the day. The only time it really is shorter is if she doesn't take the whole feeding.
ETA: CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR LITTLE GIRL!!!

Re: My first post on parenting! Question...
For the first three weeks my son drank anywhere b/w 2 1/5 to 3 ounces every 3-4 hours. I would slowly increase the amount when he would go a little longer. He was always an aggressive eater, so by 3 months old he was down to 4 bottles a day, about 7-7 1/2 ounces. My husband an I wrote every feeding down (even diapers changes) for the first three months. I feel it helped to figure out DC own "schedule".
ETA: Oh, and cogratulations on your baby ! Enjoy her!
