what kind of coat would you wear ice skating?
It's 46 here in MD. I've never been skating before...should I wear a fleece jacket or a parka? The coat I wear now is 3/4 lengh, and I assume that is too long to move around, right? Should I dress more warmly, or is it like skiing where you dress lightly?

I skate hard and fast and can build up a sweat. I try to wear as many or as few layers as I can that give me freedom to move.

Oh, and DH came up with a backup date plan in the event that the rink does not have hand rails. I do not think I could survive my first time without holding on, and DH hasn't skated in 15 years!

you're going to get warm ice skating in this weather. I would wear a sweatshirt or sweater and jeans, and that's it.
