What is your take on Frozen Foods?
DS turned a year last month and is 100% off baby food. DH and I try to make him home cooked meals as often as we can, but our schedules sometimes don't permit it from happening and I feel like he is eating too much frozen foods because its obviously quick and easier.
I try to only give him Dr Praeger's stuff, other things from Whole Foods, etc..

Re: What is your take on Frozen Foods?
I used to make big batches of fruits and veggies and freeze some for during the week.
What's wrong with frozen food?

Re: What is your take on Frozen Foods?
Are you talking frozen prepared foods. I don't think there is anything wrong with frozen if it's something healthy you are giving to your child. I still give my son frozen veggies and fruit pretty much daily. I usually prepared food and froze them and use them as needed.

Re: What is your take on Frozen Foods?
I'm in the same boat- i have no time to cook and DD won't wait for me to cook a meal- she gets home from daycare and needs to eat right away and go to bed. We use a lot of frozen stuff and pre- made stuff too. I think the only concern with frozen meals would be sodium content- if you keep an eye on that, you shoudl be ok

Correct, frozen prepared foods. He loves fish sticks, chicken nuggets, all the Dr. Praegers items (Fishes, spinach bites, etc..)

Re: What is your take on Frozen Foods?
I make homemade food and freeze, so its quick easy AND healthy. check out wholesometoddlerfood.com I make a lot of the "fast food" items and keep my freezer stocked, so when theres a day I have no time to cook we have options available.

Re: What is your take on Frozen Foods?
I'm not a fan
I find the fat/sodium content in them tends to be outrageous. I also dont think they taste even close to the fresh version.
Honestly, you probably can make dinners a lot faster than you suspect. My friend was not cooking & only serving frozen dinners for her family. She said she didnt have the time/ didnt know how to cook. I showed her a few recipes & she is a maniac now. Cooking every night and she gets home at 7pm.
You said chicken nuggets, you could fry/grill up chicken cutlets in 20 minutes.
You could also cook one night & serve it the next.

I think that's fine, just check the sodium levels. Most of the items you mentioned you can make yourself and freeze for a fraction of the cost. I know Praegers are expensive.

Re: What is your take on Frozen Foods?
If you have time, I would try to make & freeze your own foods. That is what we did.
I would make a batch of meatballs on the weekend and freeze, or bread/bake some chicken and freeze... then you can take them out and heat for a quick dinner/lunch. Mac & cheese is SO easy and quick to make from scratch... by the time the pasta cooks, you can have the cheese sauce already made.
