What is your 2 1/2 year olds speech like
ds talks pretty well and We can understand most of what he says, but there are some times where I think he's saying something new and I just don't understand him. A lot if the time if I ask him to repeat himself I'll get what he's saying or I'll ask him if he can show me what he's talking about and he can, but there are times when I'm just I feel so bad when it happens, though it doesn't happen often.
He's also begun asking questions, like non stop it seems. "Who bought this?" "Who is that?" "Where's your car?" "Does the sun talk?" He asked me the other day who bought his hair lmao. Sometimes I don't know how to answer without confusing him.

Re: What is your 2 1/2 year olds speech like
I could have written this exactly with my DD who will be 2.5 next month.
She talks non-stop and I can understand most of it, and other people understand a lot of it...but some things are just lost in translation. She's pretty good at showing me or rewording so I get it though.
I've been wondering when we should start understanding her better.
Also, she has entered the "why" phase....everything is why? Why? Why? Lol...I thought I had more time before this!

OMG, I'm laughing at the "Who bought that?" stuff. My DS (who just turned 3) is constantly asking me this or "Where did you buy that?" about everything!! He just asked me that about the toilet He's constantly asking why too.
As far as his actual speech, we understand most of it, but he definitely says things that we can't understand. It's funny because he knows when we just try to play it off like we get it.

Re: What is your 2 1/2 year olds speech like
Both of my boys had exceptional verbal skills and vocabulary by 2 years old. My little one, now 2 1/2 speaks very clearly and can carry a full conversation w/ you.
Ocassionally he'll say something we don't understand, but once we figure it out and corret him - he'll say the word clearly.
I never had to worry about any of those milestones as they were babies speech, crawling, walking, eating, gross/fine motor skills etc - Thankfully.
.......NOW, however, w/ my 4.5 year old I'm worrying b/c he's lazy and can't be bothered w/ the letters and reading (he just doesn't feel like doing it and I want to smash my head against the wall b/c everyone is telling me he should be reading ........) Really? SHOULD be reading? He's only 4.5, i'd think that was an advanced kid -
