What is a nice gift for a second daughter?
I want to get a nice gift for a mom who is about to give birth to her second daughter. The two girls will be exactly 2 yrs apart. I had 2 boys exactly 2 years apart and found that we didn't need much, esp since we still had brand new newborn clothes along with all the barely used stuff from DS#1. I remember I needed things for my older son at the time but needed nothing for the newborn except new diapers, bottles, etc.
Which gift do you think is best?
A. Photo Shoot
B. Gymboree gift certificate for semester of classes (she could take her older daughter while on maternity leave. they live walking distance to Gymboree and have mentioned that they may enroll the daughter.)
C. Gift certificate to a spa
D. Double stroller
E. Gift card to Babies R Us or Buy Buy Baby along with some gifts for older daughter (toys, older sister books, big/little sister shirts)
I personally thought the gift cards were most convenient but it is a bit impersonal. No one got me C but that is what I would personally like best.

Don't get the gymboree semester (you can't leave a 2 year old there & who will she leave the baby with if she does take the 2 year old?)
A double stroller is great if you are her sister. Tastes in what type of double stroller are specific.
I'd go with the photo shoot or gift cards.

You can take the newborn with you to the Gymboree class. Lots of SAHMs do that. It is different of course when the baby becomes a walker.
I should add that the woman is one of DH's colleagues. DH told me get her a very nice gift. At my work, when one of the girls went out on maternity leave, we got her the travel system off her registry. Problem is this woman doesn't have a registry.

She may want to pick out the double stroller herself though.
What about something personal for the new baby? A newborn photo shoot, anywhere chair with her name, something that is just hers.

I think photo shoot or gift card. The Gymboree is slightly weird to me bc the gift isn't for the new baby ( same for spa). Imo double stroller is too personal unless she is having a sprinkle and registered for one. How would you know what she wants? Whatever you choose, I always get a little something for the big brother/sister.

Photo shoot!! I'd love that as a gift! And that way she can get shots of the new daughter, but maybe some shots of the 2 together. Something they will always cherish!

Exactly 2 years as in 24 months? Because my girls were 20 mos. apart--one in Sept and one in May--so clothes were still greatly appreciated. And let's face it...who doesn't love brand new tiny baby girl clothes? 
Otherwise, I like the idea of the photo shoot!

I'd maybe say (or have DH say) something along the lines of, "Hey, we'd really like to get you a double stroller, do you have one in mind?"
I think that gift is extremely practical.
I do however like the photo shoot/spa gift certificate idea as well.

love the photoshoot idea and would be thrilled to get that as a gift.. but and I hope this doenst offend.. I am picky about my photos so I would just hope it is a photographer that doesn't disappoint! I do love all of the gift ideas though-- I think they are all "really nice gifts".!!

Photo shoot! Just make sure she hasn't booked one yet. Or if she has contact the photographer and pay the balance! It will be such a nice surprise! My sister did that for me!
