What is a Level II?
I am in NC and I think we do things differently here than in NY. I know you can find out the sex at the level II. What else is it for? I was told I only needed a level II if my AFP came back bad. I am going for a sono during week 18 and an OB appt during week 20. Is this different than what you girls are getting?

I'm 18 weeks. My level II today was a full anatomy scan. They looked at the heart, the brain the kidneys, her little toes and feet (so cute!)...everything. It's just to check that everything's working as it should be.

Did you meet with the doctor or was it just with the ultrasound tech?

I met with the technician and the doc on the same day. They took measurements of all the babies parts including locating the chambers of the heart, etc. They will usually tell you the sex then too if you wanted to know. And of course you get a pic!

I rejected the AFP - too many false positives with that test for my taste.
I had my Level II to measure all the important baby parts at 20w1d.

I didn't have a level II, I had an anatomy scan. I have called it a level II (mainly on this site ) for convience sake.

I guess mine is an anatomy scan then. That makes sense. The level II wording here just confused me I guess. Thanks.
