What happened today?

So today I was at work with a client, and all of a sudden I got really hot and thought I was going to pass out. I ran to the private bathroom and laid down on the floor. My ears were ringing but the cold tile floor felt really good. After a minute or so I started to feel better. I picked myself up, went back and continued my meeting. About 5 minutes later it happened again!!!! This time before I laid down on the tile floor I stripped because I was literally dripping wet from sweat. After I started to feel better I took paper towel and doused it in cold water and ran it all over my body.
After getting dressed I felt a lot better.

I drank about 40 oz of water between 10-4 (4 was when the incident happened) and had eaten a hard boiled egg, vanilla yogurt with fresh blueberries, celery and dip, and a chicken salad sandwich with cheese and lettuce. I don't think I was dehydrated or hungry, I do know that I was feeling warm and uncomfortable for about 5 minutes before I started to feel light headed.

The baby was kicking through the whole thing and has been kicking since, so I don't think I need to call the Dr.

Thought?

I'm sorry, I don't have any experience with this or advice, but I hope you feel better. Chat Icon I would call your doctor to fill them in anyway!

Re: What happened today?

This happens to me all the time. I can be just laying there and all of a sudden I get really hot and sweaty and feel faint or nauseas. I either have to stand up if I was sitting, sit down if I was standing, take off my coat if I was hot, drink water, eat something, or just relax. In think its because I am overexerting myself when I am dehydrated or haven't eaten recently or sometimes if my circulation is cut off. If I sit in a regular chair upright sometimes this happens I guess something with circulation. When that happens I walk around or lay down for a few minutes then I'm ok.

I started to pay attention to that warm uncomfortable feeling you described so I have been better at fighting it before it gets bad.

I would mention it to your dr but its probably just your body telling you it needs you to do something for it.

Re: What happened today?

I just had the same thing happen during a prenatal massage of all things. I think for me it may have been a combination of dehydration and a loss of circulation from the way I was laying. I did not call my doctor but will if it happens again. I do have an appointment on Thursday so I'll bring it up. I never experienced anything like it with my first DS but this pregnancy has been different on so many levels.

I had this happen to me a few weeks ago! It was scary! It also happened as I was getting my spinal for my cerclage- and my hearing got really far away- like muffled if that makes sense.
I think I was on the verge of passing out which has never happened to me before. I went outside b/c I thought I was going to be sick and asked my husband to get me ginger ale and a cookie. Between that and the cooler air I started feeling better within a couple of minutes. It thankfully hasn't happened again since.

What happened today?

This happened to me once when I was having a sonogram. The sono tech had me turn and lay on my left side and after about 5-10 minutes I felt better.

What happened today?

This has happened to me a couple of times. I usually have to get the apartment REALLY cold or drink a COLD drink to cool me off. It usually ends up being either my blood pressure or my blood sugar. I always keep something with sugar and something with salt in my bag and try both. One always seems to help me.

I mentioned it to my doctor and she said it had to do with the extra blood circulating throughout my body and when I feel like that do exactly what I've been doing to regulate everything. She also said my BP sits around 100/65 during my pregnancy and it can drop (I have a history of low BP). She said if I EVER do pass out to call and come in immediately.

The same thing happens to me and I have fainted 2x. My blood pressure normally sits at 90 over 50. The dr said it drops during the 2nd tri. Her only solution was lots of fluids, nibble every hour and no steps. I can walk for miles but steps are off limits. Which is pretty funny since I am on the 3rd floor of a walk up. Good luck I know it is a scary feeling.

All this sounds very scary! Now i'm going to get worried because I work in a building with very little and selective ac options and then work in people's homes who have no AC and it's a million freakin' degrees in there.

Yesterday I went out and got one of those travel fans. My office is often a fridge in the summer so I am hoping I won't be complaining this year. Usually I am in sweatshirts and blankets in July.

A travel fan is a good idea. Or one of those combo fans/water bottles like they have in disney lol.
