What furniture guards do you use

Hey guys, Jordana is pulling herself up to standing now and I have to childproof my coffee table. I am looking to get those cushions that go around the table. There are a few different kinds. What do you girls use?

We don't because we don't have a coffee table and we only have those magnetic things on a few cabinets/drawers in the kitchen and one in the bathroom and then the curio, tv's and dressers strapped to the wall.
We are the first of our friends to have a baby and we knew there houses wouldn't be baby/toddler proof so we are doing our best to just train him on what is OK to touch and what isn't and then after a few banged heads under our kitchen table he quickly learned to look up and around.

I kind of agree with Laurie. We don't have any furniture bumpers, nor do any of our friends/family--and my DD is watched by 3 different family members during the week. It's a bit nervewracking at first, but we've never had an accident and she learned quite early what is not hers to touch.

Actually, come to think of it, one of my cousins has a glass coffee table and has a bumper that comes in segments that you attach all around. I don't know the name of it, but I didn't even realize it wasn't "meant" to be there--looked like part of the table--it was a beige color. That's probably a good idea.

In our house, the only babyproofing we did was to lock up the cabinets that had the poisonous chemicals (cleaning supplies). We let DC learn on their own what they should and shouldn't touch. Like the others have said, you can't babyproof the world, so it's probably better to teach them what is off-limits than to put pads on everything.

I agree. Its a great excuse to teach your child discipline/rules/respect from the get go.

Thanks guys. I am just concerned because we have a small apartment and DD lifts herself up by the coffee table. I just don't want her to hit her head or chin if she falls.

Our coffee table could be used for end tables also so I needed the room more so. So we do not have a coffee table and I do not have any gaurds on the furniture that I have and I still have all my pictures out. I feel it gives them a false sense of security if he protected at home and if he goes to someones house who doesnt have the gaurd that he could really injure himself. He has fallen on the wood floors afew times but it never left a bruise or mark.
